Topics covered include:
Q+A begins at 7:00 minutes.
- The best way to prevent audio lag and sync issues over Zoom. (7:00 - 15:50)
- Over Zoom, audio and video are sent separately, with audio being prioritized. When the connection to internet is strong, you will get both. But if your connection becomes unstable, the visual will lag behind the audio - making the video appear out of sync.
- An ethernet connection is really important - as opposed to using WiFi.
- If your laptop does not have an ethernet port, you can purchase an adapter and run a long cable from your modem to your computer. This will stabilize your internet connection.
- Feature request: ability to import data into localization in order to experdite the ability to enable translation. (15:50 - 20:30)
- Chat file from Zoom - you will receive this as part of your recordings post-event - as long as chat was enabled throughout your event (20:40 - 26:30)
- Zoom chat files can be a little messy looking, but they can be copy and pasted into a Word document to be cleaned up.
- How can a volunteer watch over a Zoom room, while they also watch the event happening in a different Zoom room? (28:30 - 32:25)
- This will work best with two devices. Main meeting on one device and the open room on another.
- Set up enter and exit chime in Zoom, so attention is redirected should someone enter the room. (demoed at 30:15)
- Host and co-hosts can select "Play Enter and Leave Sound" in Zoom meeting settings. This occurs on the Zoom platform, not Obvio.
- Viewing your Dashboard as an attendee. (32:40)
- Go to the "Attendees" tab in Obvio
- Click "CREATE", and enter dummy information into first name, last name, email
(none of this info needs to be real) - you won't even need access to the email address to complete this process, so all the info could be fake. - Finish creating the person.
- When you're back on your list of attendees, click on the name of the dummy attendee you created.
- You will see the first line says "unique login".
- Click the blue clipboard icon next to the URL listed (this will copy the link).
- Open a private browsing window (this ensures you do not cache your browser).
- Paste the attendee login link into your new private browsing window. (demoed at 52:15)
- Create a password.
- If you have a waiver, you will need this attendee to sign it.
- If you have Tech Check, you want to manually "Check In" the attendee from your Attendee tab in your owner's account. This will prevent you from having to open your Tech Check Zoom room.
- Welcome to your Dashboard.
- Team Members in Obvio. (36:00)
- Remember that only one person can edit the dashboard at a time.
- Team members can be assigned roles within Obvio. This means, you could prevent certain team members from having the ability to edit the dashboard.
- Consider being very specific about roles when putting on a virtual event.
- IMPORTANT: If your background image is dark, remember to change the color of the font on your login page. (43:00)
- Example shown at 45:45
- Fix shown at 46:00
- General tab - Description Text Color
- Getting team members to the dashboard as attendees. Remember, these people won't have any admin privileges, but it's a great way to show team members what the dashboard will look like, prior to the event. (51:00)
- Quick view of an example of a dashboard viewed as an attendee. (53:45)
- NOTE: This is a real Obvio user's dashboard.
- Constant Contact Zapier integration (59:00 - 1:03:15)
- You can create custom fields in Constant Contact
- Feature Request: Offline/Online indicator on each room button. (1:03:30)
- Right now, if a room is offline and an attendee attempts to access it, they will receive an offline message. This message is fully customizable by the Obvio user.
- Workaround - use the disable/enable button feature to control what buttons attendees are able to see on the dashboard. When you are ready to open a room, enable the button, turn on the room, and by the time the button appears on the dashboard, the room will be ready to accept attendees.
- Chaning the color of button colors (1:13:00)
- Example: #ffffff will give you the color white, so will writing the word white
- Hashtag will give you consistency with your brand colors and across the various pages of your dashboard.
- Visibility Rules (1:15:20)
- Demo - 1:17:00
- Visibility rules can be applied to:
- Buttons at the top of the dashboard
- Buttons in the sidebar
- Resources
- Ribbons in the sidebar
- Blog posts
- Best practice is to log in as various attendees (who have different tags) in order to be sure your visibility rules are working as intended.
- UPDATES TO THE LEADERBOARD! (1:24:15)
- Ability to manually clear the leaderboard.
- Ability to manually add and subtract points from individual attendees.
- MailChimp integration coming soon.
- Attendee label discussion (1:33:15)
- Add a fourth field to your CSV that is for your "type", then use attendee label tab to create the label
- OR
- Add the tag to the last name in your CSV
- LiveChat icon blocking the footer setting (1:37:00)
- Expand your browsing window, to move the LiveChat icon farther to the right and the footer gear will reappear.
- I'm done with my dashboard and I'm ready to launch my rooms, what steps do I take? (1:39:05)
- Area needs to be toggled online
- Room needs to toggled online
- Someone needs to be in the room. This means, a member of your team must be in the Zoom room for attendees to be allowed in.
- This is demonstrated at 1:40:45.
- REMEMBER: Buttons are linked to areas, but the rooms within those areas need to be online too. Those rooms must be launched with someone inside of them.
- Best practice: Leave room and area offline at the end of the day.
- Tech set up call referenced at 1:44:45.
