Add a Background Image in the Cards Template

The Cards template handles background images a bit differently than other templates. Because the template is heavily image-driven at the top, the background settings are located in a unique place and include special rotation features.

Where does the background image appear? In the Cards template, the background images are intended to be a primary design element "above the fold". This means the image is designed to fill the top area of your dashboard behind your logo and main buttons, right above the "scroll down for more" indicator. When attendees scroll down below this section, the dashboard shifts to relying on the solid background colors you set for your sidebar and blog post sections.

Step 1: Upload Your Background Images
  1. Navigate to the Design section of your event and select your Dashboard.
  2. Instead of clicking the gear icon on the header itself, scroll down the left-hand menu and click on Global Styles.
  3. Here, you will see slots where you can upload up to five different background images.
  4. Upload your desired image(s) into these slots and click Save.
Note on Auto-Rotation: If you upload more than one background image into these slots, the dashboard will automatically and randomly rotate between them each time the page is loaded by an attendee.

Step 2: Adjust Your Opacity Settings (Crucial Step) If you upload your background image but still only see a solid color (like a white or black box), it is because your background color's opacity is blocking the image.

For your background image to actually show up, you must reduce the opacity of the overlaying colors:
  1. Hover over the Header area at the top of your dashboard and click the Gear icon to open the configuration panel.
  2. Go to the Styling tab.
  3. Locate the Background Opacity setting for the header and reduce it to less than 100% (or remove the opacity entirely/set it to 0).
  4. Click Save.
By reducing the opacity to less than 100%, the solid color becomes transparent, allowing your uploaded background image to visibly "pop" through behind your logo and buttons.
